This is the year the Thai GL entertainment industry didn’t just grow—it accelerated, finally going full throttle in producing more girls’ love series than ever before. And it all traces back to the spark that started it: GAP the Series. GAP didn’t just entertain us; it rekindled our hope that GL stories could finally have a place in mainstream Asian media.
Before GAP, we all remember the struggle. We had to wander through the endless maze of the algorithm just to find a single decent GL title. Yes, sapphic representation from the West helped shape the foundation of GL content, but in the East, production companies remained hesitant. Maybe it was the lack of a proven blueprint for success. Maybe it was the lingering taboo surrounding women-loving-women stories. Either way, studios weren’t ready to take the risk.
Then came IdolFactory—bold, daring, and willing to bet on a genre that had been overlooked for far too long.
