Basically, these two will be your first steps toward creating beautiful and secure live websites.
How to Open a Hosting Account
- Find a reliable and secure web hosting service. You can check this list of web hosting providers.
- Choose a hosting plan or package that suits your need and budget.
- Register a new domain, transfer a domain from another registrar, or use an existing domain.
- Fill out the Hosting Account Owner Information.
- Review the hosting package, billing details, the amount due, and contact information upon checkout.
- After payment, usually you will get redirected to the client area of your newly opened hosting account and you should receive an email on what to do next. In the New Account Information email, there it will include your cPanel and IP address details.
Now, every hosting provider and domain registrar has its own steps on how to set up a new hosting account and register a domain, but the lists of steps mentioned in this article are the usual approach in opening a hosting account and registering a domain.
How to Register a Domain
- Find a good domain registrar. Most web hosting companies are also domain registrars such as GoDaddy, Hostinger, NameCheap, and A2 Hosting.
- Check the availability of your domain name.
- Proceed to checkout if your chosen domain name is available.
- Include Domain Privacy Protection. This is an Add-on but I highly recommend getting it. Domain Privacy or Whois Privacy simply hides your personal information whenever someone tries to request it from WHOIS. Some domain registrars offer this add-on for free such as GoDaddy, Hostinger, Google Domains, and NameCheap.
- Fill out your contact information and proceed to checkout.
- After payment and supplying all the necessary information, the domain registrar will send you an email to verify your WHOIS contact information for the new domain you have registered.
